LLE is honored to maintain our position in the Certified Business Enterprise program

Washington, DC (Vocus) June 4, 2009

LLE, a leading provider of foreign language interpretation, translation and language testing services to business, government and non-profit organizations around the world, proudly received renewal in the Certified Business Enterprise (CBE) Program from the Washington, DC government. The CBE program recognizes specific DC based organizations that contribute to job creation and city tax base, contributing to the growth and stability of the District’s economy.

“LLE is honored to maintain our position in the Certified Business Enterprise program,” explains Kathleen K. Diamond, President and CEO of LLE. “For nearly 30 years, LLE has been headquarted in Washington, DC, helping federal and local government, along with domestic and international organizations, communicate with individuals who do not speak or understand the English language.”

Diamond founded LLE in 1979 and began providing language instruction to the US government. Since then, the language services firm has expanded their multilingual solutions to include over-the-phone interpretation, document translation, language proficiency testing, and language skills assessment. Diamond acknowledges that the increase in foreign immigration has changed the way both LLE and other organizations provide service to their customers.

“When we first moved to the district, we specialized in language instruction. By the 1990’s, organizations, specifically healthcare, had a dire need for immediate, unscheduled access to a language interpreter. We created LLE-LINK® , our brand of professional, 24-hour telephone interpretation. To access an interpreter 24-hours a day, callers simply dial into our 800 number, enter an access code and language request code, and begin a 3-way conversation with our linguist and their non-English speaker.”

Currently, LLE supports over 150 different languages through a community powered by thousands of linguists; experienced interpreters, translators, and other language professionals.
