NACT brings extremely high standards, and great switching technology to the table, and we think they’re a perfect partner for us in the carrier space.
Los Angeles, CA (Vocus) October 5, 2010
NACT Solutions, LLC (NACT) today announced that its VinciSoft offering has become the official commercial carrier softswitch of the FreeSWITCH project (ITEXPO, booth # 236).
FreeSWITCH is a free, open source telephony platform designed to interconnect popular communication protocols using audio, video, text or any other form of media. NACT’s VinciSoft is a VoIP and TDM switching solution that enables service providers to integrate call routing services, Session Border Controller (SBC) functionality, transcoding, billing, client management and reporting capabilities. The combination of the VinciSoft application and FreeSWITCH makes it easy for carriers to optimize their networks and achieve their revenue goals.
“Our VinciSoft Carrier switching application sits on top of the FreeSwitch core to provide a turnkey switching application that features an intuitive web interface, and seamless integration with our BAT-1000 billing system, to provide full reporting, automated carrier shutdown, and warnings based upon real-time balances, least cost/percentage routing, and a host of other features,” said Arnie Goodstein, President of NACT Solutions. “Our goal was to create a simple and cost effective platform that makes it easy for carriers to run VoIP on the networks, and FreeSWITCH gives us the ability to do this.”
“For five nonstop years, we’ve been working on the FreeSWITCH core, to ensure stability and scalability, and now we’re focusing on the application layers,” said Anthony Minessale, lead developer and primary author of FreeSWITCH. “NACT brings extremely high standards, and great switching technology to the table, and we think they’re a perfect partner for us in the carrier space.”
Created in 2006, FreeSWITCH is released under the MPL free software license, which grants recipients the rights to modify and redistribute the software. Its core library, libfreeswitch, is capable of being embedded into other projects, as well as being used as a stand-alone application. FreeSWITCH builds natively and runs standalone on several operating systems including Windows, Max OS X, Linux, BSD and Solaris on both 32 and 64 bit platforms. It supports many advanced SIP features such as presence/BLF/SLA as well as TCP TLS and sRTP. FreeSWITCH also supports FAX over audio and T.38.
NACT’s VinciSoft Carrier Switching Solution facilitates direct peering with other service providers. It can be deployed in a VoIP-only mode, reducing costs, and eliminating the need for proprietary hardware. NACT is demonstrating VinciSoft at ITEXPO, in booth #236.
