Last month the government announced that the UK economy grew by 1% in the third quarter of 2012, following 5 years of headlines dominated by the recession. Tempest Elite Marketing focused the study on SMEs as they constitute 99.9% of all private sector businesses in the UK, according to 2012 official statistics from the Federation of Small Businesses. Small businesses alone provide 34% of private sector turnover.
Of the ten businesses surveyed, 8 have reported an increase in overall output or profitability of at least 1%, Tempest Elite Marketing can reveal. Business owners cited the transfer from indirect to direct marketing strategies as key in reducing overheads and improving productivity.
