The wounded Warrior Project is near and dear to my heart. I have seen firsthand what an unbelievable impact they have made in the lives of those who needed it most and it’s nice to give back to such a wonderful organization that means the world to me.

On June 15th and 16th, Georgetown University is hosting a tennis tournament that is focused on something far more important than just tennis. After several years of planning, tournament director Wilson Paine is very excited to announce the first annual Serving For Heroes Charity Tennis Open and NTRP. This USTA sanctioned event was coordinated with the sole purpose of raising money for the Wounded Warrior Project - an organization committed to raising awareness and serving America’s wounded service members.
Paine has put together what promises to be a wonderful event and he has some big-time help to further ensure success. PlayYourCourt.com, a nationwide mobile tennis business that was born in the D.C. Metro Area back in 2009, has volunteered to sponsor the event. PlayYourCourt is well known for giving back to various communities they serve and when CEO Scott Baxter learned of the event he immediately connected with Paine to offer sponsorship.
While Baxter has contributed to many events and organizations, this event is a little more personal for him. Baxter grew up and currently resides in Virginia Beach, VA home to Little Creek Naval Amphibious Base and approximately half of the entire US Navy SEAL contingent. Baxter has personally witnessed the amazing impact that the Wounded Warrior Foundation can have on a wounded service member and his family. “The Wounded Warrior Project is near and dear to my heart. I have seen firsthand what an unbelievable impact they have made in the lives of those who needed it most and it’s nice to give back to such a wonderful organization that means the world to me.”
The Serving For Heroes Charity Tennis Open and NTRP is now open for registration to all USTA members. For more information or to register for the event, visit the USTA Tournament Page.
