KCI Protection Technologies helps drive chemical security

The Department of Homeland Security will tell 7,000 facilities next week that they are considered terrorist targets. The facilities include chemical companies, universities, hospitals and others that house or manufacture high-risk chemicals. Government officials advise that terrorist organizations favor chemical attack methods. As a result DHS seeks to impose security measures at chemical sites across the country through the Chemical Facility Anti-Terrorism Standards (CFATS) regulations.

KCI Protection Technologies LLC (KCI-PT), headquartered in Wilmington, Delaware stands ready to help these facilities secure their chemicals of concern in compliance with CFATS regulations. The regulations require immediate security vulnerability assessments and site security plans for high risk facilities. KCI-PT also offers comprehensive solutions to the stringent requirements pertaining to the security of Chemical Vulnerability Information (CVI).

“Securing America’s most hazardous chemicals can only be achieved through the collaboration of the Department of Homeland Security, responsible chemical facilities and experienced security engineering professionals, according to John Fannin III, President. KCI professionals have been involved with some of the earliest risk assessment activities for chemical and other infrastructure sectors. Our multi-discipline experience in chemical process safety, industrial security, fire protection engineering, life safety, vulnerability assessment, and risk management uniquely positions KCI-PT to lead facilities through the CFATS compliance process.”
