Our app is the first technology to offer students textbook prices and availability from websites, college bookstores and libraries.

CampusBooks released applications for Android and iPhone today. The CampusBooks platform offers students easy access to the lowest priced textbooks online and now allows students to find book pricing and availability at local bookshops, campus bookstores, even libraries.

Using any iPhone or Android powered device, a student can scan the barcode of a textbook, then use the phone's geo-location features to find the book's price and availability at bookstores and libraries in their vicinity. For example, a student scanning a book near Michigan State University could get prices from three local bookstores, and see the book's availability at the Michigan State library.

"Our goal is to help students find the textbooks they need, online, in store or from the library. The student can then make the choice where they want to buy." says CampusBooks CEO, Jeff Cohen. "The CampusBooks Android and iPhone applications are the best on the market. Other apps offer barcode scanning, but our app is the first technology to offer students textbook prices and availability from websites, college bookstores and libraries."

Since 1999, CampusBooks has led the textbook price comparison market online. With the addition of local bookstores and libraries, the company has again proven its commitment to finding students the cheapest textbooks wherever they are. Make Textbooks Affordable's Nicole Allen comments on the inclusion of libraries in our service, "Student advocates hail libraries as an effective way to save on textbooks. Access through the library could serve as a lifeline for the most cash strapped students."

The best choice between online textbook outlets, local bookstores and libraries has been an ongoing debate among students. By integrating all options into one easy-to-use technology, CampusBooks has made this choice simple. With all the information in one place students can easily decide for themselves.
