Customers want a ‘one stop shop’ for their travel needs and consolidation of our telephone numbers will help deliver it.
(PRWEB UK) 27 March 2013
Transport for London (TfL) is set to replace current customer contact numbers in favour of a new local rate 03 number.
As of this week customers calling for information on fares, refunds or to make a complaint about Oyster cards can now do so on 0343 222 1234.
The new local rate number allows customers to call TfL using inclusive free call allowances provided by most mobile or fixed line providers.
The one stop destination allows customers queries or complaints to be dealt with quickly and effectively. This will save customers both time and money.
TfL's Director of Customer Experience Shashi Verma said,
“Our customers want a ‘one stop shop’ for their travel needs and consolidation of our telephone numbers will help deliver it."
"It is only right that customers with complex queries or complaints can contact us by telephone and at low or even no cost to them.”
The new 03 local number will progressively replace TfLs other numbers, calls to the existing 0845 number will go through on the new local call rate until the old number is discontinued.
Telecoms World worked alongside TfL to provide a telephony service that would both benefit customers and provide a simple solution for all Oyster queries. A low rate local 03 number saves customers on call costs and is also equipped with the solutions to redirect customers to the appropriate service if required.
Telecoms World Managing Director Neil Barrall said,
“We are pleased to provide TfL with call solutions that will improve customer service and provide customers with a quick and efficient one stop destination.”
