Saudi photographer Thamer Al-Tassan received an award in the 2013 Prix de la Photographie Paris competition, which attracted thousands of entries from 85 countries. Thamer Al-Tassan won a Silver medal in the book proposal category for the photographic series entitled "Craftsmen of Aljanadriyah" which he photographed in Saudi Arabia. The series focuses on the hands of the talented craftsmen making wicker baskets, rings, nets, and sandals.

Al-Tassan’s photos have been featured in magazines such as Digital Photographer, Amateur Photographer, and Digital Camera. He received the 2008 and 2009 “Digital Photographer of the Year” award by Digital Photographer magazine, as well as awards and honorable mentions in previous Px3 and IPA competitions. His work has also been displayed around the world in special exhibits in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Saudi Arabia.

Al-Tassan graduated from the University of Tampa, Florida, with Bachelor of Science in computer information systems. He currently makes his living in electronic media and digital marketing in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Taking photography up as a hobby in 2004, he developed his talent by examining the works of others and experimentation. His love of architecture and reflection photography is evident in many of his photographs. His work captures unique perspectives from cities such as New York, Paris, and Istanbul.

The "Prix de la Photographie Paris" (Px3) strives to promote the appreciation of photography, to discover emerging talent, and introduce photographers from around the world to the artistic community of Paris. It is juried by top international decision-makers in the photography industry. Winning photographs from this competition are exhibited in a high-profile gallery in Paris and published in the high-quality, full-color Px3 Annual Book.
