Worldwide 2.7 million tons of plastic are used to bottle water every year. About 86% are not recycled and become garbage or litter ending up in places like the great pacific gyre and great atlantic gyre.

The Bawell mission to design alkaline water ionizers with one thing in mind -- Health, never rang truer than during the “Earth Day” celebration. Bawell’s mission of providing pure water comes from their understanding that even though over 70% of the Earth is covered with water, only about 3% of the water on Earth is freshwater. Fact is that not all of this 3% of freshwater is available for human consumption, because much of the freshwater is locked up in ice and glaciers.
A Bawell representative explains, “With the Earth's rising population, less and less pure freshwater is available. The same water must be shared by more people liveing in ever denser cities, being continuously cycled, and becoming more and more unclean. The freshwater that is available today contains many different forms of pollution, whether it is bacteria and microorganisms, chemicals, toxins, waste, or other pollutants. That is the driving force behind Bawell’s commitment to designing affordable alkaline water ionizers.”
Visit the Bawell website at http://www.bawellwaterionizers.com/bottledwater.html to see why the option of bottled water that many people choose, can be costly and not provide the purity of water that is expected. The Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) explains that "bottled water costs 240 to 10,000 times more per gallon than a cities municipal tap water."
The (NRDC) National Resources Defense Council goes on to report that, "studies have found bottled water to be no purer than tap water, and in some cases even harmful, with one out of every three containing harmful chemicals such as cancer causing contaminants, bacteria, and carcinogens." Many of these contaminants are a direct result of the plastic bottle that is made from petroleum, plus there is a lack of regulation in bottling the water. In other words, people may be taking a health risk just by drinking bottled water, the Bawell website explains.
The Bawell website reports these important concerns, and adds there is another problem with bottled water that needs to be addressed, which is the fact that approximately 2.7 million tons of plastic is used to bottle water each year. Bawell explains the concern is not only the fact that contaminates from the plastic are leaching into the water and can be causing health issues, the disposal of this much plastic every year is causing a great concern and impact upon the Earth’s environment.
The Bawell brand alkaline water ionizers are designed to incorporate cutting-edge technology so people can take advantage of all the healthy benefits of ionized water at home. Celebrate “Earth Day” with Bawell during their “Earth Day Sale”, and take control of the purity of water.
