WhoHasTheRemote.com released its list of top reasons to watch movies released by award-winning director Wes Anderson. The list is inspired by a recent Entertainment Weekly report which stated that Fox Searchlight has acquired rights to The Grand Budapest Hotel.

Who Has The Remote? is excited to learn this week that a new Wes Anderson movie is in the works. Entertainment Weekly has reported that Fox Searchlight acquired the rights to Anderson’s upcoming film, The Grand Budapest Hotel. Inspired by the news, Who Has The Remote? released a list of top reasons to watch Wes Anderson’s repertoire of films.

1.    All of Anderson’s films share an unmistakable style. Dry humor and irony reign in his movies. Characters are beautifully flawed and endearing, often delivering emotional lines in a calm, stoic manner, lending to Anderson’s sense of irony. They are at once funny and poignant. Fellow director Martin Scorsese has praised Anderson for his style, particularly on the latter’s debut film, Bottle Rocket.

2.    Anderson has worked with a particular cast list throughout his career. One might believe that watching the same actors again and again would become monotonous, but in this case, it’s endearing. The actors he chooses seem to fit his filmmaking style precisely. Bill Murray and Owen Wilson have both starred in all but one of Anderson’s films, and Jason Schwartzman has starred in all but three. Other recurring cast members include Anjelica Huston, Luke Wilson, Adrien Brody, and Edward Norton.

3.    The soundtracks of Wes Anderson movies always seem to match the films’ scenes perfectly. The films usually feature folk and older rock songs alongside original scores. One example of such a pairing of song and scene comes from Rushmore, one of Anderson’s first major films. The Rolling Stones’ “I Am Waiting” provides the perfect background to capture main character Max’s (played by Jason Schwartzman) teen angst.

Fans will look forward to The Grand Budapest Hotel, due out in late 2013 or early 2014, for these three reasons and more. In the meantime, Who Has The Remote? will be re-watching the best of Wes Anderson’s films on DVD and dish tv.

Who Has The Remote? is a big fan of Wes Anderson’s movies. These top three reasons to watch Anderson’s films will no doubt apply to the next film in the works, The Grand Budapest Hotel.
