The Manor Association Selects Ronald McDonald House at Stanford as Local Charity for 2011 Annual Client Appreciation Event Fundraiser

The Manor Association proudly honors it clients, partners, vendors and staff during the holiday season each year at its annual Client Appreciation Night. Beginning in 2010, the annual client appreciation event has been used to raise funds to support local charities. “Thanks to the many generous donations from vendors and clients alike, the County of San Mateo Sheriff’s Department 2010 Annual Toy Drive was hugely successful, said Greg Munks, Sheriff of San Mateo County. “Without the generous support from organizations such as The Manor Association, we would be unable to provide these programs to those in our communities who need them the most.”

The Ronald McDonald House at Stanford is a 501© (3) Tax Exempt Non-Profit organization that creates a supportive community for families of children with life-threatening illnesses receiving specialized treatment at local hospitals. “More than 85% of Ronald McDonald House at Stanford’s annual funding comes from the contributions of local community members and businesses,” said Honey Meir-Levi, the House’s Executive Director, “we are thrilled to have the Manor Association join us in providing a warm and welcoming home-away-from-home for seriously ill children and their families.”

The House can accommodate 47 families per night in private rooms and features a communal kitchen and dining room, children’s activity room, teen recreation center, computer center, family library, and fitness center, in addition to a selection of program offerings that promote a sense of normalcy for each member of the family. When severe illness strikes a family, it is not just the patient who is affected. Regardless of whether they are adult, patient or sibling, Ronald McDonald House at Stanford nurtures the whole family in times of need.

“When looking at local charities that align with our mission to assist and serve communities in the Bay Area, the Ronald McDonald House at Stanford was an obvious fit,” said Brian Campisi, President of The Manor Association. “The Ronald McDonald House at Stanford does extraordinary work and provides housing and support services to families in their greatest time of need. Anything we can do to use this year’s event to raise funds for this worthy effort is exciting for all involved.”
