In a recent announcement, the government has expressed their intention to create 70,000 jobs through an improvement plan of £60 million for ports in order to boost wind projects.

The Prime Minister David Cameron said that Britain had great potential to become the leader in the offshore wind industry, especially because thousands of wind turbines would be much needed within the next ten years.

All the countries in the developed world are looking to reduce carbon emissions and create sources of renewable energy. We are certainly on the path of leading the way”.

The manufacturing of these turbines needs large factories and they must be located on the coast. At this point in time neither the large ports nor the factories exist and that is what is putting off any potential investors. In order to help secure the investment from private investors, the Government is providing up to £60 million to help with the needed offshore wind infrastructure at British ports.
“These are the type of initiatives that our economy needs” said the Managing Director of UK Knack Group. “We need to identify what industries will be needed for many years to come and support them in order to create jobs and attract investment”
