For stressed business travelers who can only dream of a good night’s sleep while on the road, The Benjamin hotel, renowned for its Sleep Concierge and perfect night’s sleep guarantee, offers relief with its new “The Art of Sleep” package and The Benjamin Dream Journal program, launching during National Sleep Awareness Week, March 7-13, 2010.
The Benjamin’s two-night “The Art of Sleep” package, starting at $289 per night and valid through December 31, 2010, features suite accommodations; consultation with the hotel’s Sleep Concierge; nightly bedtime snack of The Benjamin’s famous PB&J finger sandwiches; 20 percent off a sleep inducing spa treatment at the Benjamin’s Wellness Spa; and late 2 p.m. checkout. “The statistics are astonishing—nearly 70 million Americans suffer from a chronic sleep disorder and an estimated 30 percent are losing sleep over the state of the economy,” said Andrew Labetti, general manager of The Benjamin. “Our guests know when they step into The Benjamin, we are going to do everything we can to provide them with a good night’s sleep, so they can leave the hotel for a business meeting or to explore New York feeling refreshed.”
During National Sleep Awareness Week, the hotel will provide sleep tips and amenities to guests and offer bedtime snacks in the lobby each evening. The hotel is placing Benjamin Dream Journals in various guestrooms and suites beginning the week of March 7th to encourage guests to share their dreams, whether conjured during sleep or their aspirations and goals, through writing and artwork.
The Benjamin’s @SleepConcierge Twitter page will continue to provide sleep tips to followers during National Sleep Awareness Week as well as give away various sleep-inducing amenities.
The Benjamin’s sleep guarantee ensures that everyone who stays at the hotel walks away well rested or gets a free night’s stay. The hotel features a 12-choice pillow menu and The Benjamin Bed, a Serta® mattress created exclusively for The Benjamin, with specially engineered convoluted foam cushioning and layers of fibers quilted to the mattress for a luxurious surface feel. The custom-designed Benjamin Bed is covered with 100% Egyptian cotton 400-plus thread count sheets by Anichini and a down-filled comforter with a luxurious duvet cover. Aromatherapy bathroom amenities help guests relax and prepare for bed. In addition to the luxurious sleep amenities, The Benjamin’s windows are double-glazed with argon gas between the panes to help keep rooms quiet and restful.
To ensure that guests receive a perfect night’s sleep, the hotel employs a full-time Sleep Concierge who offers guests advice on pillow selection and other sleep-related issues. The Sleep Concierge can also arrange a relaxing massage at the hotel’s Wellness Spa; order a signature bedtime snack of warm milk and cookies or other sleep-inducing room service choices; or arrange the loan of a bedside white noise machine that electronically drowns out any stray background noise.
National Sleep Awareness Week takes place March 7-13, 2010, and is a public education, information and awareness campaign coinciding with the return of Daylight Saving Time, the annual “springing forward” of clocks that can throw off the body’s sleep routine.
