The Galen Awards issues a call for entries in the First Annual American Veterinary Awards competition. Nominations begin November 1, 2010. All organizations in the veterinary or veterinary related fields in the U.S.A or Canada are eligible to submit nominations. Nominations submitted online by January 31, 2011 will receive an early-bird discount. To encourage all organizations, large or small, in the veterinary industry to participate, a few awards will have zero ($0.00) entry fees including Veterinary Clinic Employee of the Year.
The Galen Awards were created to honor outstanding achievement in healthcare industries and to also generate public recognition for the achievements of companies and individuals worldwide. The Galen Awards mission is to raise public awareness of exemplary organizations and the exemplary performances of individuals among the general public, press, and healthcare community. The Galen Award is destined to become the most coveted business award in the healthcare industry. The Galen Awards has already been dubbed “The Health Care Oscars.”
The Galen Awards are governed by a Board of Judges & Advisors that features many leading figures in the health care industry. Galen sponsors include several well known and respected businesses. “This is a very exciting time for the veterinary world with the launch of the American Veterinary Awards,” said a Galen Awards spokesperson. “For the first time, the veterinary community can now achieve the much deserved recognition while competing against other organizations in it own industry,” the spokesperson said.
Participating in the Galen Awards is a cost-effective way for any business to honor and show recognition to its valued employees and to build and promote its business, practice or brand. The Galen Awards offers various awards in a broad range of categories in order to honor all individuals, companies, teams, products, and advertising as well as other forms of corporate media. The Galen Awards are structured so that nominees will compete only against other nominees of comparable sized organizations. This Award structure allows small organizations the same opportunity for recognition as the largest healthcare companies.
Nominations are done online after registering as a user. Awards include Best Overall Company, Fastest Growing Company, Executive of the Year, Veterinary Clinic of the Year, Veterinarian of the Year, Employee of the year, among others. Over 60 awards will be given to companies, departments, teams, and individuals in 10 or more categories.
The Galen Awards is currently open for nominations for the American Veterinary Awards. Other Galen Award competitions including medical healthcare business awards will be announcing a call for entries soon.
