At the recent CPCU Society annual meeting (held in Las Vegas on October 24, 2011), the members of the CPCU Society voted overwhelmingly to amend the CPCU Society’s bylaws in order to move forward with establishing a formal affiliation between the CPCU Society and The Institutes.
The Institutes are looking forward to working with the CPCU Society to align their respective visions, missions and initiatives with the ultimate goal of driving stronger business results for the property-casualty and risk management industry. Under the affiliation, The Institutes and the CPCU Society will endeavor to enhance the CPCU Society’s membership benefits, develop a stronger value proposition and increase the services offered to CPCU Society members in order to develop and grow an active and engaged CPCU Society membership.
In his remarks regarding the vote, The Institutes’ president and CEO, Peter L. Miller, CPCU, shared his enthusiasm, “The Institutes are excited by the outcome of this vote and we look forward to working with the CPCU Society staff and members as we embark on a coordinated effort to enhance the value that the CPCU designation and CPCU Society membership bring to our industry and insurance and risk management professionals around the world.”
The Institutes and the CPCU Society will periodically announce developments as they make progress towards advancing this affiliation.
