Eric Baker, a well-known, highly respected and award-winning design professional, has joined The O Group as Design Director effective August 3, according to Orit, president and CEO of the company. After 20 years of running his own business, Baker has decided to focus on his passion - creative development and design.
"Eric and I have known each other for many years. He is the consummate design professional and has a very unique and specific approach to design. His distinguished client portfolio encompasses many of the leading and legendary brands in the restaurant, hospitality and publishing fields. Our new association will allow us to provide our clients with new opportunities, expanded services, offerings and resources," said Orit.

Formerly, Baker was principal of Eric Baker Design Associates, Inc., a New York based design firm established in 1986. At his studio, he developed extensive branding and identity projects, and designed dozens of illustration and photography books and exhibition catalogs. From Gordon Parks - the groundbreaking American photographer, filmmaker and writer - to the esteemed restaurateur Danny Meyer, who has been a client for over 9 years, to Borgo Finocchieto, a luxury villa in Tuscany, Italy, Baker has proven his ability to succeed in all disciplines.
Baker also mentors developing young talent and students in the area of branding and graphic design. As a professor at School of Visual Arts in Manhattan, and at the SUNY Purchase, NY campus, he teaches graphic design, branding, and the history of design at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
A two-time recipient of the National Endowment for the Arts Design Grant for his independent design history projects, his work has appeared in Print, Communications Arts, How, Domus, Metropolis, Blueprint, ID Magazine, The New York Art Directors Annual, British Design and Art Direction, The New York Times, Vanity Fair and Graphis.
