Innovative publishing house donates 2,000 Skinny On™ books to military centers across the country

The USO appreciates the donation from The Skinny On book series. We believe these books will be very helpful to our military men and women.

Publishing maverick, Rand Media Company, creators of the hit “Skinny On™” series, has been asked by the USO to help support our troops. The United Service Organizations strive to provide entertainment and comfort to the men and women serving our country. The Skinny On™ books use humor and a visual format to summarize critical life skills, such as time management, willpower, networking, and success.

The United Service Organizations are excited to share The Skinny On™ series with the visitors of their centers, “The USO appreciates the donation from The Skinny On book series. We believe these books will be very helpful to our military men and women,” remarks Ed Reilly, chairman of the Board of Governors of the USO.

Jim Randel, founder and creator of the “Skinny On™” elaborates on the partnership, "We are very proud to be providing our soldiers with materials that can help them transition back to a life in the States. We are flattered that the USO saw the value in what we are doing and that they selected our materials for distribution to the men and women in our military."

The CEO of Rand Media Company, Donna Hardy, has a more personal connection to the cause. “My brother served in the military most of his life and he taught me how essential the USO is to our troops. We at The Skinny On™ want to facilitate the supportive and comforting environment the USO centers provide. The fact that our books are meant to be read in one hour is perfect for anyone just stopping by the center for a break. We hope the hour they spend reading a title will be one in which they are entertained and immersed in learning valuable life skills,” Hardy explains.

In addition to donating 2,000 titles to a total of nine centers across the country Rand Media Company is offering a discount to visitors of USO centers who are interested in purchasing their titles.

"The Skinny On is a whimsical Readers Digest recipe for success and independence. In my book, that is what every Soldier, Sailor, Marine and Airman deserves,” explains Lt. Colonel Joseph Lanzetta, USAF, who served as a pilot on Air Force Two for several years and was on the first plane that flew after 9/11. As an experienced instructor in the military, Lt. Colonel Lanzetta understands the importance of getting essential information to our armed forces in the most timely and effective manner.
