James Grant is the outstanding financial writer in the English-speaking world. He is an acclaimed American biographer and financial historian.

James Grant has been appointed as a senior advisor to TheGoldStandardNow.org, a project of The Lehrman Institute. Institute founder and chairman Lewis E. Lehrman said: “James Grant is the outstanding financial writer in the English-speaking world. He is an acclaimed American biographer and financial historian. He is an expert on the gold standard.”

TheGoldStandardNow.org is a website that provides information about the classical gold standard. The site provides key writings, historical information, breaking news, featured articles from the world media and frequently updated original content.

Grant originated the "Current Yield" column in Barron's before founding Grant's Interest Rate Observer in 1983. He is the author of five books on finance and financial history including his latest, Mr. Market Miscalculates (Axios Press, 2008). Mr. Grant's television appearances include "60 Minutes", "The News Hour with Jim Lehrer", "CBS Evening News", and a 10-year stint on “Wall Street Week”. His journalism has appeared in a variety of periodicals, including the Financial Times, The Wall Street Journal and Foreign Affairs, and he contributed an essay to the Sixth Edition of Grahm and Dodd's Security Analysis (McGraw-Hill, 2009).

Currently serving as advisors with TheGoldStandardNow.org are Ralph J. Benko, author of many articles on the gold standard, most recently at The Washington Examiner, Forbes.com, CNBC.com and Foxnews.com; Brian Domitrovic, author of Econoclasts: the Rebels Who Sparked the Supply-Side Revolution and Restored American Prosperity and Forbes.com columnist; John D. Mueller, Director of Economics and Ethics program at the Ethics and Public Policy Center; and author Jeffrey Bell, policy director of the American Principles Project.
