Digital Sports Group are today launching the PFA Profile of Arsenal’s attacking midfielder Theo Walcott. DSG became the official digital partner of the Professional Footballers Association (PFA) earlier this year and have since launched a number of Player profile fan pages on social media site Facebook as well as providing official player pages on their football news site football.co.uk. It was today the turn of Theo Walcott to see his official PFA Profile.
A product of the Southampton F.C. Academy, Walcott burst onto the international scene when he was a surprise selection in the England squad for the 2006 World Cup. Walcott is known for his blistering pace, with former Barcelona manager Pep Guardiola once declaring that “you would need a pistol to stop him.” His playing style has been likened by Arsene Wenger to the club’s all time leading scorer, Thierry Henry. Since making his debut Theo Walcott has gone on to become a fan favourite at the Emirates and will particularly be remembered for his 2 goals in a 5-2 win against rivals Tottenham Hotspur during the 2011-12 season.
Head of Operations at DSG, Matthew Tait had this to say “Walcott will have no shortage of fans after his impressive performances for Arsenal over the last couple of seasons.”
“Of course a player with Walcott’s talent requires a certain level of respect and responsibility and he is sure to be a major hit with fans on Facebook.”
Digital Sports Group will provide further PFA player profiles for every professional footballer in England. The Theo Walcott Facebook Page is now live.
