Physicians have a very limited amount of time, so we are putting the same trusted and critical information from our journals, at their fingertips, on-demand.
Durham, NC (Vocus) November 17, 2010
The Oncologist is pleased to announce the launch of its HD and universal apps, becoming the first peer-reviewed journal to present full-text and multi-media functionality on mobile devices. In response to the growing use of mobile technology among physicians, AlphaMed Press developed these new apps to facilitate quick and easy access to peer-reviewed medical information and key opinion leader podcasts for oncology professionals worldwide.
“The Oncologist is to be commended for being the first, and only, journal to provide the oncology community with such an extensive App,” said Dr. Hyman B. Muss, MD, Director of Geriatric Oncology, Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine. “It is essential to have The Oncologist’s kind of cutting edge information with you at all times.”
The Oncologist HD App for iPad allows users to virtually flip through journal pages, accessing critical articles within seconds. It also includes rich multi-media options that further enhance information visually and audibly, including embedded content not available in the traditional print edition. Both the HD and the universal app allow physicians to download podcasts of Journal articles, as well as a library of content from conferences, symposia and roundtables of respected oncology experts.
“Our mission is to foster the best cancer patient care and practice management,” said Marty Murphy, 3rd, AlphaMed Press Vice President, Global Business Development. “Physicians have a very limited amount of time, so we are putting the same trusted and critical information from our journals, at their fingertips, on-demand. All of the Journal’s content and resources can be immediately retrieved, even while treating patients or in between appointments.”
AlphaMed Press and The Oncologist are fully committed to delivering the information that physicians need, in the most convenient and accessible formats possible.
