Information about one of two major planning applications for renovation of the former site that belonged to Goodyear in Wolverhampton has been made available.

Prestige executive employment consultancy UK Knack Group has said in an overnight announcement that St Modwen has put forward an application to Wolverhampton City Council for authorization to construct 314 homes on the 88-acre site as well as to develop a new neighbourhood park.

In line with earlier promulgated plans that were agreed by City Council of Wolverhampton, St. Modwen’s plans for the neighbourhood park will open up an important area of the presently private site to the public.
Persimmon is the company that will develop the housing, and the company’s group development manager Daniel Neveu said that it was very exciting to be part of this joint venture with St Modwen and being able to submit the first planning application.

The UK Knack Group believes that the 314 new homes that have been proposed at the Goodyear development site will create a high quality new community. The project includes a mixture of properties that would range from homes of just one bedroom to properties with four bedrooms. They will certainly appeal to people already living in the area, as well as those looking to relocate to Wolverhampton.”
Work has already started on the site, including the access road and Aldi supermarket. Seventy acres still to be developed will create a vibrant mixed-use development.
