Symmetricom Announces New Web Interface, Monitoring Software and Options for XLi GPS Synchronized Time and Frequency Receiver

HTML web interface and Time Monitor software for powerful time and frequency measurement and analysis greatly improve usability and performance.

SAN JOSE, Calif. (PRWEB) August 16, 2006 -- Symmetricom, Inc. (NASDAQ: SYMM), a worldwide leader in precise time and frequency products and services, today announced a new HTML web interface, Time Monitor software and a new Have Quick output option module for its XLi/XLi SAASM high-precision GPS synchronized time and frequency receivers.

“The new HTML user interface is a very significant usability upgrade for the growing network-centric applications our customers deploy and is the first instrument of its kind to include a web page interface,” commented Ron Holm, product marketing manager at Symmetricom. “Additionally, the Time Monitor software enables customers to use the XLi/XLi SAASM as a powerful time and frequency measurement and analysis instrument. The Have Quick output module provides yet another timing output for our XLi/XLi SAASM to synchronize military radios.”

The modular ultra precision XLi/XLi SAASM Time and Frequency System is the most precise, versatile and flexible solution for timing and synchronization requirements. The XLi's wide range of option cards also makes it easy to adapt an XLi configuration to application needs as they change. Plug-and-play cards and built-in XLi option card recognition software allow modules to be swapped out without modifying the operating system.

New capabilities of the XLi/XLi SAASM Time and Frequency System include:

  • HTML Web Interface - provides a remote, easy to use, intuitive graphical user interface (GUI) that greatly improves usability with the XLi/XLi SAASM, the first time and frequency instruments that include a web page interface.
  • Have Quick Output module - provides a Have Quick output signal compatible with ICD-GPS-060 Revision A, which synchronizes military radios as deployed on Navy ship and submarines. The U.S. Navy has a growing need for Have Quick output sourced from a SAASM based GPS receiver such as the XLi SAASM.
  • Time Monitor software - enables customers to use the XLi/XLi SAASM as a powerful time and frequency measurement and analysis instrument, providing automatic collection of time and frequency measurements, as well as a wide range of time and frequency computations including: frequency offset, drift, stability (Allan Variance), MTIE, TDEV, phase deviation and more; easy plotting of data with a choice of five graph types; support of numerous telecom masks (ITU-T, ANSI, ETSI) which can be overlaid on the plot; and remote control via a graphical user interface (serial or network) of the XLi/XLi SAASM.
Availability

The XLi/XLi SAASM Time and Frequency System is now shipping with the new HTML user interface. The new Time Monitor software and Have Quick output option module will be shipping in August.
