We've already started this year’s tour and got some guitars signed, and it's hard not to let the cat out of the bag, but we're keeping it under wraps until the voting starts.

Tim Leeper Roofing is a locally owned and operated business that has served the Nashville area for nearly 10 years, but beyond his dedication to providing quality roofing services, Tim Leeper actively supports the Nashville non-profit community.
"It's an event that we do personally,” says company owner Tim Leeper, “the concept is that we tour around Nashville and have celebrities autograph various guitars, then we award those guitars to charities. If they auction it off and get $500, or $5000, it didn't cost them anything, so everybody wins."
This year will be the third time the company has organized and hosted this event, and when he talks about it, Leeper gets excited, "The first year we gave away one guitar, the next year we gave away three, and this year, we're actually going to give away ten! So many charities are going to have an opportunity to win an autographed guitar!"
The way it works is pretty simple. Members of the Nashville community nominate any local charity they want to support, votes are tallied, and then the winners get to choose a guitar to sell, auction off, or whatever. According to Leeper, "This is our opportunity every year to shine a spotlight on local charities and local people who are making a difference and making our community a better place to live. There're a lot of good charities out there that a lot of folks have never heard of because they don't deal in that 'arena' of non-profits every day."
Nominations open on August 1st until September the 15th, the voting will continue to October 15th, and then on October 18th (date may be subject to change), all of the nominees will meet for a banquet at Maggiano’s in downtown Nashville, and the winning charities receive their guitars. But it’s more than just a contest Leeper continues, "When we get all the charities together…they all get a platform to introduce and talk about their charity, what makes it tick, why they do what they do, and who they serve."
"Oh yeah,” says Leeper, “we've already started this year’s tour and got some guitars signed, and it's hard not to let the cat out of the bag, but we're keeping it under wraps until the voting starts."
Previous guitar signers included Kings of Leon, John Schlitt, TobyMac, Trace Adkins, and even Lady Vols head coach Pat Summitt.
Last year the charity winners were Williamson Christian College, Our Thrift Store of Franklin, Tennessee, and a group called Against the Grain. Says Leeper, “They're a Christian Ministry that goes into halfway houses and prisons and re-assimilates people back into society with Biblical principles. They actually rocked it last year; they beat everybody else by about 600 votes last year."
Stay tuned for details, because the Music City Guitar Tour is right around the corner!
