Naples, Fla. (PRWEB) March 07, 2013
Tim Tebow will take the stage at the Naples Town Hall Distinguished Speaker Series at The Ritz-Carlton Golf Resort in Naples on Saturday, March 9, 2013. Mr. Tebow is the third speaker in Town Hall’s milestone 30th anniversary season.
Widely recognized as one of the greatest college football players of all time, Tim Tebow’s collegiate career as a Gator at the University of Florida culminated in two national championships and his being honored as the first sophomore recipient of the Heisman Trophy.
“Tim Tebow has emerged as a true American icon. He is an exciting personality who reminds us through his inimitable style and unabashed faith, that nothing is impossible. Tim is admirable, intriguing, and, to a certain degree, enigmatic. Naples Town Hall is proud to feature him as a key part of our 30th anniversary season,” Rick Borman, President and Producer of Town Hall boasted.
A first round selection in the 2010 NFL Draft by the Denver Broncos, Tim burst onto the national stage as he led the franchise to the 2011 NFL Playoffs for the first time in six years. Tim is now under contract with the New York Jets. A fierce competitor with a strong work ethic, Tim is a leader his teammates trust and respect.
But even more than his impressive athletic skills, it is his integrity and character that have won him legions of fans. Tim lives a life that consistently reflects his values, and he is dedicated to helping people and communities in need.
In 2010, he founded The Tim Tebow Foundation, which is partnering with CURE International to build hospitals in the Philippines. In addition to Tebow/CURE Hospitals, the Foundation also grants wishes for children with life-threatening illnesses and is building playrooms in hospitals and orphanages, among other far-reaching charitable works.
While Tim sees football as a platform for greater good, it’s clear that the public’s fascination with him spreads far beyond the gridiron. He has more than 1.8 million Facebook subscribers and 1.6 million Twitter followers, and his New York Times bestselling memoir Through My Eyes, was named the #1 sports book of 2011. Tim was also named one of TIME Magazine’s “100 Most Influential People of 2012”.
In an industry where many are celebrated only for their performance on the field, Tim Tebow is an example of how much can be accomplished by living your values and making a positive difference in the lives of others.
Borman adds, “Tim is another example of how cutting edge programming contributes to exciting sold out seasons year after year. He energizes fans both young and old. I am personally looking forward to this event. Tebow fans and Town Hall subscribers alike will not want to miss this event.”
Tebow joins other world renowned speakers for the 2013 Distinguished Speakers Series, including famed oceanographer and discoverer of the Titanic Bob Ballard on January 8, 2013 and former Secretary of Defense Robert Gates on February 9, 2013. The fourth and final speaker is to be announced soon. Those interested in seeing Tim speak may purchase tickets by visiting http://www.NaplesTownHall.org or calling 239-659-6524.
