There is no other play as dramatic and full of tension as the Delray Beach, Florida Playhouse production of 12 Angry Men by Reginald Rose. The story of how one dissenting juror slowly and frustratingly changes the minds of eleven others in a death penalty case is an engaging night of live theater. Today in America TV executive, Jim Nicholas Veser, Senior Vice President of Production, a former Equity actor with more than 15 years of acting experience, is cast as “Juror Number 4”, the analytical stockbroker. The unflappable and logical character is one that Veser initially was uncomfortable playing because it was so unlike any role he had ever brought to life, but he now embraces it saying, "I realized the character was the rational center of the play, and although his ego is quite fragile, his arc is clearly defined."

Florida is a state that supports the death penalty. It is also one of the critical states in the 2012 Presidential election making the stage play’s subject all the more relevant. As explained by Veser, “Our government is a democracy. That is the central theme of the play. The prosecution has to prove, beyond a reasonable doubt, that the accused is, in fact guilty.” This production of 12 Angry Men is set in 1957, the time when the hit film starring Henry Fonda came out and the public’s prejudices were strong, as they are in the state today. The play runs through Sunday, June 3. Tickets for the production can be purchased online or by calling the box office. Directions and more information can be found at
