Toll Brothers, Inc. (NYSE: TOL), the nation’s leading builder of luxury homes, has launched its new mobile-focused website, designed to appeal to busy home buyers with little time to search for their dream homes. The site, which is optimized for the small screen, allows users to easily navigate and access community and home information from anywhere using a mobile device.
By going to TollBrothers.com through their mobile browsers and entering a metro area, state, or zip code, visitors can locate nearby homes and search through multiple criteria simultaneously, rather than in layers. Users can also search by home type, price range, and Quick Delivery Home and To-Be-Built options.
Once a community is chosen, the user can view a community description, the home designs offered within that community, the school district, the sales manager’s name and contact information, available amenities, and more. Driving directions and Google maps are available as well.
“After studying search patterns, we designed the site to accommodate the preferences of both home buyers and REALTORS®,” said Michael Klouda, Director, Web Services for Toll Brothers and co-creator of the site. “This will allow users to more easily find communities in their areas of preference directly from the road.”
Toll Brothers’ award-winning web design and development team used a different approach when creating the mobile site. Rather than taking the route of modifying an off-the-shelf product, they studied their unique users' search patterns and customized the site to meet their needs.
The new mobile website was designed to accommodate the iPhone, the Blackberry®, and other modern mobile devices. However, the user experience may differ based on the operating system in use. “We track the type of devices that are being used to search, and we continuously refine the site to service more and more users,” said August Marcello III, Senior Web Developer for Toll Brothers and co-creator.
“We are always looking at ways to improve our customer service and the home buying experience, and our new mobile site will certainly enhance the process,” said Kira McCarron, Senior Vice President, Chief Marketing Officer for Toll Brothers. “For example, if someone from out of town wants to relocate, but doesn’t know the area, he/she simply enters a metro area and can instantly find all the Toll Brothers communities that fit his/her needs within a certain range,” she added.
