Tom Cruise will make an appearance on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" on December 22 to talk about his latest movie, the historical WWII conspiracy thriller Valkyrie. In the film, Cruise plays the role of Colonel Stauffenberg, a German Nazi officer behind the last known attempt to assassinate Adolf Hitler.
Cruise was a guest of "The Late Show with David Letterman" on December 16. During the interview, Cruise and Letterman talked about how the actor took up odd jobs as a kid to pay for movie tickets, including selling Christmas cards door to door, delivering newspapers and bagging ice.
Cruise also read Letterman's "Top Ten" list of the day, which he said he's always wanted to do. "I've always wanted to do this," said Cruise. "I have done a lot of things in my life, and definitely this is on the bucket list."
The daily list, titled "The Craziest Things People Say About Tom Cruise on the Internet," poked fun at some of the actor's controversial past, with such lines as, "I once Heimliched a Koala," and "I believe all emotional and psychological disorders can be cured with Vicks VapoRub."
Valkyrie, directed by Bryan Singer and distributed by United Artists, is opening December 25, Christmas Day. Kenneth Branagh, Tom Wilkinson, Bill Nighy, Carice van Houten, Terence Stamp and Eddie Izzard are co-starring in the film.
Tom Cruise has been acting for over 25 years, starring in films such as Risky Business, Top Gun, The Color of Money, A Few Good Men, Jerry Maguire, Magnolia, and the action-packed Mission: Impossible trilogy. He has been the recipient of three Golden Globe Awards and nominated for three Academy Awards. He was recently nominated for a fourth Golden Globe Award for his performance in the Ben Stiller comedy Tropic Thunder.
