The Cool 100 - Topnetpix.Com Scours the Internet for New, Emerging and Just Outright Cool Websites
With proceeds from sale of Christmas.com, new breed Web aggregator TopNetPix.com launches a one-stop source for what's hot. How cool is that?
Scottsdale, AZ (PRWEB) November 8, 2007 -- PRNews
ETR Group, LLC, announces the launch of their new feature 'The Cool 100' as part of their content aggregator website TopNetPix.com. Every day, TopNetPix editors scour the Internet universe in search of the best new and emerging websites, and aggregate them into one location, for quick and easy access.
"For people interested in keeping current with the rapid changes on the Internet, The Cool 100 is a great destination to check out 100 new and emerging websites," says Jeff Rusinow, President of ETR Group. "Our editors round up the Buzz. It's all there; you can browse The Cool 100 with incredible speed and efficiency. And you can easily tag or email your favorites within your social networking circle."
TopNetPix.com is an aggregator of top sites, content and human-edited search. TopNetPix seeks to capture Internet visitor market share by developing a thin application that provides access to thousands of best-of-breed sites, and thus compete with content sites like Yahoo, human-edited search engines like Ask.com, and personalization sites like Netvibes.
After spending 20 years as a senior executive with department stores like Macy's and Kohl's, Jeff Rusinow was eager to leave the grind of 'big box' retailing and corporate mainstream in the Spring of 2000. Rusinow left his position as Executive Vice President of Kohl's Corporation, cashed out his stock options and became an active angel investor in the Midwest. Within months he founded Milwaukee's first angel network, Silicon Pastures, and made investments in a wide variety of early-stage ventures beginning in late 2000. Rusinow's Internet investments have yielded the best returns.
His first success was BUYSEASONS, Inc. and its principal asset, the e-commerce site BuyCostumes.com, launched in 2000. The site soon became the largest seller of costumes on the Internet. As Chairman and lead investor of the Milwaukee, Wisconsin based company, Rusinow oversaw the sale of the company last year to Liberty Media for (Nasdaq: LINTA).
In 2003, ETR Group and Rusinow became the sole owner of Christmas.com, the largest Christmas-specific Internet portal. While ETR Group was preparing to re-launch the site leading up to the 2006 Christmas Holiday, Rusinow was approached by an Australian company about purchasing the site. The sale was completed in late 2006.
"Much of what we were working on for the re-launch of Christmas.com we were able to bring over in developing TopNetPix.com" says Rusinow. Using some of the proceeds from the sale of Christmas.com, ETR Group launched a beta version of TopNetPix in August, 2007. The site will continue to add content, develop related Facebook applications and launch new features like The Cool 100. Videos of many TopNetPix features can be viewed on the website.
