Denver, CO (PRWEB) September 11, 2012
ICON LASIK is excited to announce that patient and pro cyclist Tom Danielson is riding in the ICON LASIK Tour of the Moon on October 6th, 2012. Tom will ride with the 2,000 recreational cyclists throughout the day as they complete the challenging Coors Classic route through the Colorado National Monument. The route was also featured in the movie American Flyers. The Colorado National Monument is just outside of Grand Junction, Colorado. The event will sell out shortly as there are only a limited number of entries available.
Tom Danielson stated that “The ride sounds like a blast! It is definitely a classic route that I can’t wait to ride!” To register for the event visit http://iconlasik.com/tour-of-the-moon
Tom Danielson had eye surgery in Denver after wearing contact lenses almost his entire life. The benefits of the surgery were immediate with improved results on the bike and a better quality of life off of the bike. What many people may not know is that Tom Danielson was actually not a good LASIK candidate! Another clinic in Denver tried to convince him to get LASIK. However, the optometrists at Icon using the advanced prescreening technology determined that he had extremely dry eyes which are a contraindication for LASIK. Fortunately, even though he was not a good LASIK candidate there have been advances in eye surgery in the last few years. Those advances included the introduction, and FDA approval, of VisianICLs. Tom was a perfect candidate for the VisianICLs.
Visian’s ICLs are similar to having semi-permanent contact lenses implanted. The risks are low, the recovery is incredible quick, and the visual acuity is fantastic. In fact, Tom rode for 5 hours the day after his surgery and it was in the middle of the winter in Boulder!
On October 6th, 2012 Tom will take his better than 20/20 vision through the Colorado National Monument with 2,000 recreational cyclists who can also experience the benefits of ICON LASIK’s world class technology, experience, and affordability. To celebrate the Tour of the Moon Icon is offering LASIK for $499 per eye. Some restrictions apply please visit http://iconlasik.com for more information.
ICON LASIK is a proud supporter of cycling in Colorado. ICON LASIK is the official LASIK sponsor of the USA Pro Challenge, the Elephant Rock, and now the inaugural Tour of the Moon. The 2012 USA Pro Challenge saw massive crowds and the ICON LASIK car throughout the week’s tough stages. The Elephant Rock ride is also a Colorado classic for recreational cyclist. It is widely considered the unofficial kick off to the century season in Colorado. And now the Tour of the Moon is the perfect end cap to a great season of cycling before Icon’s skiers and boarders start hitting the snow.
