Alameda, CA (PRWEB) April 12, 2013
Welcome spring aboard the USS Hornet Museum and dance the night away during the Spring Hop, Saturday, April 20.
Beginning at 7:30 p.m. until midnight, get ready to hit the dance floor and show off some moves as 3 O’Clock Jump performs swing numbers from the 1940s. If the “sock hop” tunes of the 50s and 60s sound more appealing, DJ Tom LG will be spinning the vinyl for a stroll down memory lane.
In addition to free dance lessons by Jim Trusdale, a former Fred Astaire instructor, guests will be able to show off their skills on pinball machines courtesy of Pacific Pinball Museum. And what better way to remember the night than with a vintage souvenir photo? Camera Girl and her novelty photo booth will capture the memories of the night. A portion of the price of all souvenir photos will benefit the USS Hornet Museum.
For those wanting to show off their dance skills, there will be an amateur dance competition with cash prizes. There will also be prizes for best vintage-dressed couple.
Advance tickets for the event are $25. There is also a $5 fee to enter the contests. Proceeds from Spring Hop will benefit the USS Hornet Museum.
