RVing is obviously a timeless activity. Any recreational pursuit that is actively pursued throughout the course of a century is one not only worth enjoying, but one that is here to stay.
Phoenix, AZ (Vocus) April 9, 2010
Pedata RV Center celebrates the passing of 100 years of RVing. And Pedata isn’t the only one; leaders in the industry recognize the passing of a century as a major accomplishment and are planning appropriate promotions for the event.
Centennial events will be held at the Elkhart Museum (RV/MH Hall of Fame in Elkhart, Indiana), various RV shows, various RV dealerships and campgrounds. The Good Sam Club is planning a RV History Caraventure en route to the Louisville Rally (July 22-25). The Caraventure begins in Elkhart and will end in Dearborn, MI. 100’s of RVs (both old and new) will participate. The trip will culminate with a visit to the Ford Museum followed by the last leg of the trip to the 2010 Rally. Along the route the Good Sam Club has planned to offer several RVing lifestyle, RV history and RV traveling seminars.
The evolution of the RV began with the introduction of the motor car in 1910. Innovative manufacturers quickly built on the much loved idea of travel with motorized campers. By 1914 this had moved on to towable tent trailers and in 1917 by the first fifth wheel.
Gerard Pedata of Pedata RV Center suggests, “RVing is obviously a timeless activity. Any recreational pursuit that is actively pursued throughout the course of a century is one not only worth enjoying, but one that is here to stay.”
Pedata RV Center plans to celebrate the 100th year of RVing by providing special promotions. Their online inventory provides consumers with everyday wholesale pricing on quality RVs.
