On Saturday, March 20, 2010 Envision Prince George’s will hold its 21st Century Town Meeting from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Prince George’s Sports and Learning Complex in Landover, MD. Nearly 1,500 residents and community stakeholders have registered to participate in this Saturday’s Town Meeting. Residents will have an opportunity to speak out, share ideas, and help to prioritize the top needs and goals for the county.
While residents are encouraged to register for the meeting by going to http://www.envisionprincegeorges.org, doors will be open to all members of the community who have an interest and commitment to make Prince George’s County a better place to live, work, learn, serve, enjoy, and sustain its resources.
Saturday’s Town Meeting is structured in such a way that everyone will have a meaningful opportunity to participate. By the end of the meeting, ideas will be synthesized into a report and participants will vote electronically on their priority recommendations. From there, action teams will develop strategies. The teams will address short and long-term goals, providing the community and decision makers with a guide that will help achieve a better quality of life.
Additionally, a live blog, interactively reporting on the activities of the Town Meeting will stream via the web site on Saturday.
