TraceLink Inc., helping businesses securely supply every global market opportunity on-time and in-full with the TraceLink Business Cloud, announced today that Shabbir Dahod, TraceLink’s President and CEO, will be leading a panel discussion on global pharmaceutical integrity and access to safe medicines at the World Summit on Innovation and Entrepreneurship taking place Sept 26-28th at the Seaport World Trade Center in Boston, MA. TraceLink also announced that the company has been named a Global Hot 100 Enterprise by the World Summit, recognizing the company for its passion in developing innovative technologies and fostering business collaboration to address growing concerns in protecting patient safety and ensuring efficient global production and supply of medicines.
The World Summit brings together leading global entrepreneurs, innovators, executives and policy makers to discuss challenges and create solutions for key issues in healthcare, energy, education and communications through the intersection of innovative business models with emerging technologies such as social media, collaborative environments and cloud computing.
Mr. Dahod will lead an interactive session entitled “Stop Dangerous Drugs: Protecting Integrity, Serving Patients in a Global Pharmaceutical Marketplace” at 11:20am on Friday, Sept. 28th. With almost 2 billion people globally lacking regular access to essential medicines and over 1,700 incidents of drug counterfeiting reported worldwide in 2011, ensuring safe and efficient supply of needed medicines to global patients is a critical issue. The panel will examine the human cost and business impacts due to drug counterfeits, substandard medicines and distribution barriers across the globe. The panel will then discuss how new industry, government and NGO partnership models can be used in conjunction with emerging technologies to create a more efficient global supply network.
Joining Mr. Dahod in examining this topic are four noted healthcare, life science and supply chain leaders:
- Roger Bate, Fellow at the American Enterprise Institute and author of the recent book “Phake: The Deadly World of Falsified and Substandard Medicines”
- Prashant Yadav, Director of the Health Care Research Initiative at the William Davidson Institute, University of Michigan
- Peggy Staver, Director of Product Integrity at Pfizer Inc.
- Roddy Martin, Senior VP of Global Supply Chain and Supply Chain Transformation Thought Leader at CCI
