When finished, many times a name pops to mind for that gourd. No two finished gourds are alike. Each one is different so that you know you truly have a one-of-a-kind doll.

Traci Hutton, Tightly Wound Artist™, announced the creation of a new web site to showcase her creations, art-t-dolls.com.
Art-t-dolls.com is the home of Whimsi Gourd People™, Hutton's signature art dolls created with dried gourds of several varieties.
"The creative process starts with each gourd being hand-picked, with a glimpse of a personality already emerging. The process leading to the completed doll is a labor of love with that twist of creativity needing to be unleashed," Hutton says.
"Gourds are cleaned and dyed. Shoes get hand-cut, sanded, and painted to coordinate with those ever-so-colorful legs. Some get a brightly stitched collar, fun hat, or some other special feature that helps develop his or her personality. Creating their faces is the final phase, using elements of nature, button and beads, and whatever else I have around," Hutton continued.
"When finished, many times a name pops to mind for that gourd. No two finished gourds are alike. Each one is different so that you know you truly have a one-of-a-kind doll."
"Whimsi Gourd People are meant for year 'round enjoyment and smiles," Hutton declared.
Also featured on art-t-dolls.com are other Hutton works.
Coming this Spring are Traci Hutton's newest creations - Pinheads™ and Happy Hollow Birdhouses™.
