Morristown, TN (PRWEB) October 14, 2010
F. Braxton “Brack” Terry of the Tennessee law firm of Terry, Terry & Stapleton has been selected to become a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates.
“It is an honor to have been chosen by my peers to be a member in this exclusive organization of talented, dedicated and ethical lawyers,” Terry says.
The American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) is a national organization dedicated to improving trial advocacy and educating the public about the Seventh Amendment right to a trial by jury.
To become a member of ABOTA, an attorney must display “skill, civility and integrity” and meet several qualification requirements, including meeting experience requirements for serving as lead counsel in civil jury trials that have gone to verdict.
Drawing from their experience, ABOTA members frequently participate in continuing education and training of younger civil litigation attorneys.
“I believe it is vitally important to preserve and strengthen civil advocacy in Tennessee and throughout the country,” Terry says.
Terry focuses his law practice on personal injury law, including car accident, tractor trailer accidents, birth injury, product liability and workers' compensation. His law firm features offices in Morristown and Greeneville and serves clients throughout eastern Tennessee.
His selection to the ABOTA membership is the latest in a string of professional honors.
He has been elected president of the Northeast Tennessee Chapter of the Federal Bar Association, and he has been admitted to the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum, which is an organization for U.S. trial lawyers who have been awarded a verdict or settlement of more than $2 million.
He also has been named a “Rising Star” by Super Lawyers Magazine., And subsequently a “Super Lawyer”.
Terry was admitted to the Tennessee Bar after earning his law degree at the Nashville School of Law in 1996. He is also licensed to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee.
He has previously served as the president of the Walters State Community College Foundation Board of Directors and has been named Distinguished Young Alumnus by the Division of Business at Carson Newman College.
