Features of Language Studio Lite
Translation Quality Evaluations - TQE
In order to alleviate subjectivity when examining the quality of translations, Asia Online Language Studio Lite has standardized the most common industry metrics into a single tool. Currently, Language Studio Lite provides TQE metrics for: BLEU score, F-Measure and Translation Error Rate (TER). Using these metrics, language professionals can gain a firm understanding of translation quality and quickly identify areas that require improvement.
Translation Data Preparation Tools
Asia Online Language Studio Lite provides a quick and simple means to analyze and manipulate text in the following ways:
Word Count: Analyze text for the number of words and number of unique words, which is useful for estimating the size and complexity of a translation task. It also has the added advantage of being able to count the number of words in one side of a TMX (Translation Memory eXchange) file.
Line/Segment Count: Analyzes text to determine how many lines in a TXT (text) or TMX file.
Sentence Count: Analyzes the number of sentences in a document and the average number of words per sentence.
Extract and Merge: Extracts data from TMX, XLIFF (XML Localization Interchange File Format) and Tabbed Pair file formats.
Convert: Converts data between TMX, XLIFF and Tabbed Pair formats.
N-Gram: Identifies and counts N-Grams in text files, plus allows for merging of N-Gram files, and counts and matches N-Grams to a word list. This is an important task for improving translation quality, as quality N-gram models are used by statistical natural language processing as part of the automated translation process.
