Bernstein Liebhard LLP is representing hundreds of clients in similar transvaginal mesh lawsuits that have been filed in state and federal courts, including numerous cases pending against Ethicon and Boston Scientific.
New York, NY (PRWEB) April 06, 2015
A Pennsylvania court overseeing hundreds of transvaginal mesh lawsuits (http://www.vaginalmeshlawsuit2015.com/) has refused to dismiss scores of claims pending against Boston Scientific Corp. and Johnson & Johnson’s Ethicon, Inc. unit. According to an Order issued on April 2nd in the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas, the Court rejected the companies’ contention that Pennsylvania was an inappropriate venue because plaintiffs lacked ties to the state. (In Re: Pelvic Mesh Litigation, Case ID No. 140200829)
“According to their motions for dismissal, Boston Scientific and Ethicon wanted to have these vaginal mesh lawsuits moved to the multidistrict litigations currently underway in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia. However, plaintiffs had asserted that Pennsylvania was a proper venue because both companies had voluntarily registered to do business in the state,” says Sandy A. Liebhard, a partner at Bernstein Liebhard LLP, a nationwide law firm representing victims of defective drugs and medical devices. The Firm continues to offer free legal consultations to alleged victims of serious vaginal mesh complications.
