Transvaginal mesh lawsuits progress towards trial with the completion of certain depositions and the scheduling of future status conferences, Bernstein Liebhard LLP reports.

Transvaginal mesh lawsuits included in four related multidistrict litigations are progressing towards trial, Bernstein Liebhard LLP reports. The court conducted a status conference on September 13, 2012 for the following vaginal mesh actions currently underway in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia: In re: American Medical Systems, Inc., Pelvic Repair Systems Products Liability Litigation (“MDL No. 2325”); In re: Boston Scientific Corp., Pelvic Repair Systems Products Liability Litigation (“MDL No. 2326”); In re: Ethicon, Inc., Pelvic Repair System Products Liability Litigation (“MDL No. 2327”); and In re: C.R. Bard, Inc., Pelvic Repair System Products Liability Litigation (“MDL No. 2187”).

At the status conference, the parties reported that they have finished all plaintiffs’ and treating physician depositions for the first group of potential trial cases involving transvaginal mesh manufactured by defendant C.R. Bard, Inc. The court scheduled the next status conferences for November 2, 2012, and December 6, 2012 at 1:00 PM. At the next conference, the parties plan to propose trial dates set in the next year for defendants American Medical Systems, Boston Scientific Corp. and Ethicon, Inc.

“We are pleased that the transvaginal mesh lawsuits are moving closer to trial,” said Bernstein Liebhard LLP, a nationwide law firm representing clients who have been injured by dangerous drugs and defective medical devices, on behalf of individuals who were injured by vaginal mesh.

Ct.), which are two consolidated actions of all the vaginal mesh lawsuits filed in New Jersey State court.
