Going Places, an online travel series is set to launch in September, bringing a fully interactive take to globetrotting. The show is hosted by five young adventurers who leave behind their careers, families and lives for the opportunity of a lifetime: the chance to travel the world without abandon and search for the globe's greatest.
From world famous hotspots to lesser-known local gems, Going Places will search the globe, highlighting the attractions, people and experiences that make these places unique. The public can take part in the journey through an interactive web site, GoingPlacesTrip.com.
The web site will feature a range of multimedia content including video, photography, and travelogues from the field. Fans will play an active role over the course of the trip through online polls, forums and challenges which reflect Going Places' theme: "It's your world too. Live it."
Online visitors can give the show's hosts travel advice, debate with one another about the world's best for global recognition, and occasionally even decide where Going Places goes next. Additionally, Going Places' ongoing search, The 6th Seat, will bring travel enthusiasts along to be a part of the show. Those chosen will receive a weeklong trip as the sixth member of the Going Places travel crew. In return, these selected viewers serve as special correspondents who will share their experiences to the world.
"The interactive element is huge," says Adan Vielma, Going Places' travel coordinator. "Like food or music, travel is universal. It elicits direct emotions. People will connect immediately to the content on the site. In the case of the 6th Seat program, the viewers are literally part of the experience."
Going Places will debut September 2010. For more information, visit http://www.GoingPlacesTrip.com
