Attending events is a real treat for dogs, but it's often even more fun for the owners., a popular dog travel website that provides online reservations at more than 15,000 pet friendly hotels, today announced the release of their Dog Events Calendar. The calendar lists dog events by state and includes a description of each event along with details on the time, location, sponsor and cost.

More than 200 dog parades, beauty pageants, festivals and fundraisers are already included on the calendar, and new events are being posted daily. The best of the best can be found in the Top Dog Events of 2007 section, which features:

Melissa Kendall is the president and founder of She created the website after being unable to book a pet friendly hotel room to attend a friend's wedding in Cape Cod. After calling several hotels that were said to be "pet friendly" on what was once her favorite travel site, and finding that none of the hotels actually allowed pets, she set out to create an online directory that focused solely on pet travel and made it easy for dog owners to find accurate information on hotel pet policies.
