The UK has been revealed as the number one source of overseas travellers to Las Vegas, generating nearly 400,000 visitors in 2008 and accounting for 10 per cent of international air travel to the Nevada city, according to the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority.
However, as each year thousands of UK travellers embark on trips to Las Vegas, holidaymakers might not be aware that some standard travel insurance policies do not cover travel to America. Holidaymakers with pre-existing travel insurance policies may have to seek additional travel insurance cover if they travel to America.
Post Office Travel Insurance has therefore advised UK holidaymakers to double check which destinations their existing travel insurance policy covers, and make sure this includes the US. Travel insurance cover for the USA, Canada and the Caribbean is available from the Post Office, as part of its range of worldwide travel insurance.
By taking the time to ensure pre-existing travel insurance policies offer adequate cover, Post Office Travel Insurance advises that holidaymakers can enjoy themselves knowing that if they should encounter any difficulties like sickness or theft while abroad, they will be covered by their travel insurance policy.
