Post Office Travel Insurance advises sea-bound customers to purchase fully comprehensive travel insurance

Figures published by The Passenger Shipping Association have revealed UK cruise passengers increased by four per cent to 1.53 million in 2009. This rise in popularity among UK travellers has been attributed to the average price of a cruise falling by six per cent to £1,330 from the previous year.

The Passenger Shipping Association predicts that the drop in price for cruise holidays will increase passenger numbers to two million by 2014. Meanwhile, the figures revealed by the body have also shown that one in 10 UK package holidays are now cruises. Post Office Travel Insurance recommends that whatever the kind of holiday, and whether travelling by air or sea, UK travellers should purchase a fully comprehensive travel insurance policy.

Sarah Munro, head of Post Office Travel Insurance, comments: "We recommend consumers do not leave buying their travel insurance to the last minute, to ensure they are covered by a travel insurance policy for cancellation, should an illness or an emergency happen before they travel"

Post Office Travel Insurance offers extra cover travel insurance to cover a range of sporting activities all over the globe for single or multi trips. Pre-existing health insurance cover is also offered by Post Office Travel Insurance to make sure medical conditions do not hinder individuals with medical conditions from travelling on holiday.
