The giving spirit was alive and well at TrendSource this past holiday season. In addition to the donations made to Feeding America (4,000 meals) and the Sierra Club on behalf of their clients, the company’s employees banded together to help the less fortunate in the community by gathering food items to donate to the Feeding America San Diego Food Drive.
The TrendSource corporate office, located in San Diego, CA, was divided into teams by departments as a way to stir up some healthy competition. From November through January, donations were counted on a weekly basis and totals were shared to keep excitement high. In the end, the Business Development Team won by a hair, but really, Feeding America won as TrendSource was able to donate over 1,100 food items.
Feeding America, the nation’s leading hunger relief charity, is fortunate to have holiday meals donated every year, and while the holidays account for the bulk of donations made to this great organization, it’s tough to keep the momentum going throughout the year. “After the holidays, the cupboards run low and the food supply can become scarce,” said Erin, a TrendSource employee and Volunteer Committee member, “so we made the decision to host a food drive through January for staple items to help re-stock shelves and team up for a good cause.”
The TrendSource Volunteer Committee is comprised of a group of individuals who have an exceptional dedication to community service and a passion for bettering society as a whole. They’ve lead social responsibility efforts at TrendSource and continue to inspire company employees through their actions.
