The common feeling is that President Obama will disregard Trump's offer. Wouldn’t it be amazing if Mr. Trump took us up on ours?
Boca Raton, FL (PRWEB) October 26, 2012
Donald Trump landed himself at the forefront of the news media when he released his offer to President Obama on Wednesday, October 24th. His video, entitled “From the Desk of Donald Trump: Major Announcement” asked the president to release his college transcripts and passport records. In exchange, the real estate mogul and television personality would donate five million dollars to any charity Obama chooses.
While the public and news media debated about whether Trump’s offer was warranted and the American public waited to see if any action was taken; the popular dog news site took an entirely different approach.
“Our focus is always on dogs,” said Brandy Arnold, Content Editor for Dogington Post. “So when we heard Mr. Trump offering up a huge charitable donation, we instantly thought of how many dogs such a huge sum of money could benefit.”
In reaction to Trump’s offer to President Obama, Dogington Post made it’s own offer to Donald Trump, in the form of a letter to Trump from the site’s resident mutt philosopher, Ralph.
“If Mr. Trump is willing to donate even a fraction of his offer to the President to a national dog charity – the benefit to those homeless, needy dogs would be astounding,” said Arnold. “And although most rescue dogs don’t come with a personal history, registration papers or even a real birthday, they can offer something much more valuable – unconditional love, companionship, and endless loyalty.”
According to the ASPCA, approximately five to seven million animals enter animal shelters every year. Many of these shelters are largely funded by donations and contributions from philanthropists and through the generous work of volunteers.
“The common feeling is that President Obama will disregard Trump's offer,” said Arnold. “Wouldn’t it be amazing if Mr. Trump took us up on ours? In the words of Donald Trump, we will be happy and those charities will be very, very happy!”
As October, also honored as Adopt-A-Shelter-Pet Month, drew near to a close, Dogington Post made this plea to Mr. Trump with the hope of bringing awareness to the financial needs of dog shelters across the United States.
In addition to the Major Announcement to Trump, the site also published many articles highlighting the importance of dog adoption and rescue, including “Why a Shelter Dog Should Be Your Next Best Friend.”
