LifeStorage Elgin is Participating in the Elgin Area Trunk-or-Treat Event on October 29th, a Safe and Fun Alternative to Traditional Trick-or-Treating

Anytime you can reach out to the community, kids, or the elderly, it's a wonderful opportunity to connect with others and help out.

LifeStorage, Chicago self storage provider for home and business, records management and office solutions, is excited to announce LifeStorage Elgin's upcoming participation in the Elgin Area Trunk-or-Treat event on October 29th at the Church in the Word, 430 Airport Road, Elgin, IL. The Trunk-or-Treat event is an alternative to trick-or-treating. Each year on the last Saturday in October, dozens of decorated vehicles fill the Church in the Word parking lot and provide candy and games for participants, right from the trunks of their vehicles. This year the event starts at 2 pm and typically runs two to three hours.

Elgin Area Trunk-or-Treat provides families and children a safe, controlled environment to trick-or-treat, instead of the more traditional house-to-house approach. Children go around car to car instead of house to house, providing the same experience in smaller, festive, surroundings. In addition to candy and treats, there are inflatable decorations, face painting, and free fall food for everyone attending. This year the event will have live music provided by the band Candlelit Relief as well. The Church in the Word invited LifeStorage Elgin, which shares a plaza with the church, to participate, and LifeStorage was excited to help out any way it could.

LifeStorage Elgin Store Managers Susan Powers and Paul Menzel plan on providing candy and LifeStorage Center bubbles to trunk-or-treaters, as well as decorating a LifeStorage moving truck with a family-friendly Autumn theme. Powers, recent national Manager of the Month from SpareFoot, is looking forward to the event.

“I do not know if I will be dressing yet, but definitely will try to... I love Halloween!” Powers said. For Powers and Menzel, this is another opportunity to have some fun while representing LifeStorage, and taking an active roll in the community. It's part of what makes LifeStorage the company it is, providing more than just affordable, industry-leading self storage.

“Anytime you can reach out to the community, kids, or the elderly, it's a wonderful opportunity to connect with others and help out. Everybody needs storage from time to time and we are the perfect company to do just that. The more we are able to be a part of events like this, it just reminds everyone that we do care about our community, that we're a business that takes an active roll in participating and giving back... and we can have some fun while doing it,” Powers said.
