The tinnitus was a high pitched sound and it was continuous… Now I hardly notice it at all.
Edinburgh (PRWEB UK) 7 June 2013
From June 2013, patients in Scotland and the North of England can be treated at The Tinnitus Clinic, Edinburgh. This new service is based at the Spire Shawfair Park Hospital, Edinburgh.
At any one time, up to 10% of adults in Scotland may be living with tinnitus – a ringing, roaring, buzzing or whistling in their ears with no external cause. Many sufferers find their tinnitus can have a major impact on their quality of life.
Since 2011, The Tinnitus Clinic in London has been successfully achieving a long-term and significant reduction of patients’ tinnitus symptoms using an innovative treatment known as Acoustic CR® Neuromodulation.
Peter Humphries, an early patient of the Clinic, has found that Acoustic CR® Neuromodulation has brought him relief after living with tinnitus for 20 years.
“The tinnitus was a high pitched sound and it was continuous… like when a kettle boils. It was annoying and it caused a lot of problems with me hearing things. I was only sleeping two or three hours a night. Now I hardly notice it at all.”
In addition to Acoustic CR® Neuromodulation, the new Edinburgh consulting rooms will provide tinnitus and hearing assessments, Tinnitus Desensitisation Therapy and treatment for hyperacusis.
