New social networking platform powers music discovery and allows users to effortlessly interact and share their latest listening activity.

My friends were always recommending great songs to me, but the trend was that the songs were years old and I had been unaware of them for all that time. So one night at dinner, on a napkin, we sketched out a way to never be out of the music 'loop' again. Tuneticker was born.

Tuneticker has just launched a free social networking platform that allows people to instantly discover music and interact in a fast growing community. Users are able to see the music their friends listen to as the activity is instantly delivered to their desktop or mobile device. It facilitates interactive social networking capabilities that allow for group discussions with friends - based on the music. Tuneticker can also be set to automatically feed the user's Twitter account with their latest listening activity.

Tuneticker CEO and Binghamton University student David Fox developed the desktop and mobile solutions to fill a void created by the explosion of digital music. Fox says "My friends were always recommending great songs to me, but the trend was that the songs were years old and I had been unaware of them for all that time. So one night at dinner, on a napkin, we sketched out a way to never be out of the music 'loop' again. Tuneticker was born."

The free Tuneticker desktop app (available on Mac, Windows, Linux) delivers friends' music activity directly to the desktop. No work is involved. It displays live grouped activity from all friends, and allows the viewing of recent activity from specific friends. Tuneticker's unique music recommendation engine intelligently learns the user's musical taste and recognizes songs they will enjoy. The desktop app automatically syncs all of the user's listening activity with no setup required. If a person wants to keep songs or artists private they can simply indicate it in Tuneticker and the songs or artists will be invisible to friends and the public.
