Los Angeles (Vocus) September 24, 2009
TV Guide Broadband, a division of TV Guide Network, today announced a company milestone as it ranked first amongst YouTube Partner Channels in viewership and second in overall YouTube channel viewership worldwide on Tuesday, September 22. The achievement came as a result of a multi-week Emmy® content campaign that included distribution of Emmy nomination coverage, highlights of TV Guide Network's celebrity interviews from the 61st Primetime Emmy Red Carpet pre-show, and post-Emmy "Fashion Wrap" coverage to partners including TVGuide.com, YouTube, Hulu and Fancast, among others.
"This year, TV Guide Broadband covered Emmy nominated shows and stars like no other outlet leading into Emmy night," said Dmitri Ponomarev, Vice President of Video on Demand for TV Guide Network. "We are very pleased to see that viewers sought out this content online and tuned in at higher numbers than ever before."
The successful Emmy campaign marks another milestone in a year when TV Guide Broadband broke viewership records in May, June and July. In July 2009, TV Guide Broadband obtained over 15 million cumulative video plays across its network of partner sites.
TV Guide Broadband will launch similar content campaigns during Award Season 2010, including the 67th Annual Golden Globe® Awards, the 16th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards®, the 52nd Annual Grammy® Awards and the 82nd Annual Academy Awards®.
TV Guide Broadband blends original and on-demand content with programming selections from TV Guide Network. Users can preview, sample and catch up on the best of television, movies and music through its short-format programming. The service offers up-close and personal interviews with the biggest stars in Hollywood and exclusive behind-the-scenes access to the most popular shows on television produced by TV Guide Network.
