Sarasota, FL (PRWEB) November 04, 2013
Today Nap Time Startups launched a campaign for any woman to declare herself or a friend as a "Qualified Woman” candidate for Twitter's Board of Directors and have some fun doing it. The candidate with the most social media votes by Friday, November 15th will receive $1,000. The campaign is a response to the lack of diversity on Twitter’s all male Board of Directors, investors and executive officers, except for its general counsel who was hired within the past two months.
Vicki LeMay, CEO, Nap Time Startups stated, "The ‘Qualified Woman’ campaign sends Twitter’s Board of Directors a message. They need to acknowledge that women make up the majority of Twitter users, and that the ‘glass ceiling’ created by the old boys network of Silicon Valley needs to end. In addition, we wanted to support the messages put forth by women journalists like Kara Swisher and Claire Cain Miller.”
Woman can support the Qualified Woman campaign by using the hash tag #qualifiedwoman and tagging @naptimestartups. To become eligible for the $1,000 award, a candidate must submit to YouTube, for community voting, a short video with her qualifications. Detailed video submission and voting rules are outlined on the Qualified Woman web site. The election results will be published on Monday, November 18th.
