Two Seasons, the UK's largest independent retailer of board sports hard and soft goods, is bucking the decline in leisure spend with a focus in online and specialist markets. From it's 14 UK wide outlets and website, the company is already seeing sales of higher end snowboard equipment increase on last year.

Our efforts have been targeting and exceeding the needs of these specialist online orders.

Main stream consumers have cut back on luxury goods such as Snowboards but 'die-hard' boarding fans are still buying as kit is seen as a necessity purchase, says the company.

Ade Flower, Commercial Director for Two Seasons, said: "Enthusiasts are having to look online for rarer more specialist, high end goods like the DC MLF Freestyle snowboard. These are consumers that know what they are looking for and want great detail on each product.

"Our efforts have been targeting and exceeding the needs of these specialist online orders."

With high end purchases, comes a potential increase in fraudulent card buys. Two Seasons has introduced more advanced approaches this year to combat such attacks and is reaping the bottom line benefits as a result.

Flowers, adds: "Prospects are looking very good. Credit card liabilities are down, high-end sales are up further increasing our on-line growth. We see sales of more specialist gear continuing well into the winter with a more moderate lift in main stream product sales."
